Photo Tour - Back Bay

  Located in the heart of Copley Square, this magnificent church was designed by Henry Hobson Richardson. It ranks among the most spectacular of our National Historical Landmarks.
 
     
  Located in Copley Square, the Boston Public Library (1852) is the first free/publicly funded libraries in the nation. The original building was designed by architect Charles Follen McKim. In 1972, the BPL expanded with a new addition designed by Philip Johnson. Today the BPL is the second largest library in the US.
 
     
  Designed by world renowned architect I.M. Pei, the John Hancock Tower at 62 stories is the highest in New England. This rhomboid shaped building with over 10,000 reflective glass windows is the most well known building in Boston. There is an observatory on top of the Tower.
 
     
  Another National Historic Landmark located in Copley Square, this beautiful building is called the New Old South Church because it had moved from it's original location at the Old South Church on Washington Street in 1875.

  World wide headquarters of the church, the Christian Science center includes the Mother Church built in 1894, and the 1906 addition designed by Charles E. Brigham.
 
     
  The 52 story Prudential Tower was the highest building in Boston until the construction of the John Hancock Tower. An observation tower is located on the 50th floor, and on the first and second floors it hosts the city's newest shopping center, the Prudential Center Mall.
